About Us!

The Rachel Park Dance Center's philosophy is to recognize, encourage and develop every student, instilling a positive self-image, a sense of discipline and an appreciation of dance as an art form.

The Rachel Park Dance Center was established in 1993 with the goal of bringing professional dance instruction to children and adults in Middleboro and the surrounding towns. The original Dance Center, located in one of downtown Middleborough's historic buildings, consisted of one large dance studio, small waiting area and dressing room. Over the years as the student enrollment grew, the studio facilities expanded as well. The Rachel Park Dance Center presently consists of two large, air-conditioned dance studios with wood flooring and viewing windows, dressing room, large air-conditioned waiting area and staff offices.

The Rachel Park Dance Center provides all students with experienced instructors. All are adults with prior teaching experience, degrees in dance or dance education.  We feel strongly that an experienced and qualified faculty is the key to a positive dance experience. The Rachel Park Dance Center is the home of the Middleborough Youth Ballet which performs an annual full-length Nutcracker and the Rachel Park Dance Company, a group of talented and highly committed students, who perform locally and attend numerous dance competitions each year. They have brought home many silver, gold, platinum and special awards.

In addition to our regular classes we offer our students the chance to study with guest teachers each year.  Past guest teachers have included David Petro from the Boston tour of "Cats," Thomas Fillebrown and Delilah Smyth of the Louisville Ballet, Marissa Salemi, Miss Dance America 1999 and Joey Zarzecki, popular adjudicator and teacher for national competitions and conventions.

The Middleborough Youth Ballet is dedicated to promoting dance for young people.  Concentrating on classical dance, the Youth Ballet will also introduce dancers to contemporary works.
The goal of the Middleborough Youth Ballet is to provide training and public performing opportunities to young dancers in the Greater Middleborough and Taunton area and to increase the community's enjoyment of the art of dance.

The Middleborough Youth Ballet's production of a full-length Nutcracker is performed each year in early December.
